Hi All,
recently I received my BOWP and it is valid till August 2015.
My question is can I travel home for vacation and come back? Do I need additional documentation when I return back? Do I need to have a return ticket?
When I come back, I won't have a job with me.

You need Visa to get back to Canada. BOWP is not a travel documet. It just allows you to stay and work in Canada.

If you are entering Canada via road from US, then your BOWP will suffice. Air, Train, Ferry will need a TRV to enter.

We have visa too till May 2015 (multiple entry).

Actually you don't need the WP for travelling purposes.... you only need the TRV.

You need a TRV to reenter Canada but still take your BOWP with coz the officer will ask for it when you come back.. I just came back from my vacation and the officer did ask for my BOWP.. Enjoy your vacation buds !

actually, you NEED your OWP to re-enter Canada to prove your status in Canada .

TRV allows you to enter Canada but even if you forget (don't have) a WP you can still get into Canada as a visitor.
Proving status is different than re-entering Canada.

Make sense. But I would carry my TRV and BOWP (just in case).
Can we apply BOWP and leave Canada ? If it is approved then is it valid once back to Canada ?

Hi,
one of the requirements is to be present in Canada. So technically you should wait till you get your BOWP but this is just my assumption.
