Travel while applying for spousal sponsorship.

My Canadian husband and I (US CITIZEN) are applying to sponser me for permanent residency. We both have plans to travel OUTSIDE of our home countries to different overseas countries while we are waiting for our application to process. (I will be living in France) Would this be okay? Incase of an interview I would be able to come home but other than that is there anything different we have to do during the application process if we are both not in our home countries?

Also, do all forms of identification; passport, birth certificate, have to be certified??

I was informed....from another Forum site....that a Birth certificate IS required....for an Application for Permanent Residency to Canada. Can you definitely confirm...whether or not a Birth Certificate IS required....for a Spousal Sponsorship under the Family Class?

What was asked originally was if the copy needed to be certified.

So, yes, you definitely need a copy of your birth certificate.

No, the copy of the birth certificate does not need to be certified, unless it had to be translated from another language. Otherwise, a regular clean photocopy is fine.
