Hi Leon,

My relative( age under 14 years) is reaching to Canada next month (by Sept-1st week,2013) before his PR Card gets expired in NOV-2013.

He is not meeting the 730 days obligation for residency in last 5 years as he has stayed for 13 months only during that period.

Question:

1. can he face any problem for entering? If so- should he be applying for TRAVEL DOCUMENTS first and then book plane ticket for Canada?

2. If he gets entered- when he can apply for PR Card renewal in Canada? Can his parent apply for the same in his absence in Canada?

Raj

1. He should not apply for a travel document if his PR card is still valid.

2. If he enters without a problem, he should let the PR card expire and only apply to renew it after he has stayed in Canada for 2 years straight.
