There is something I can't figure out.
I landed last week in the Vancouver office as a permanent resident.(yeyyyy)
As part of their presentation they recommended to anyone that wasn't waiting for the PR card to arrive for travel to get a travel document.
I read all about it and that it is needed for people who travel by a commercial travel agency etc..
My questions are:
1.Does this document has nothing to do with the border services?is it specifically just in case the airline I am flying with will ask for it?
2. If I am for an exempt visa country is it safe to say I do not need this document?
Yes, it's simply so that you can get onto a commercial carrier.
For people that are visa-exempt, it's not normally required, but CIC don't seem to publish this fact.
I should point out however that some airlines and travel agents will not sell you a one way ticket as a "visitor", which is what a visa-exempt person would be travelling as.
That's what I figured
I was always worried that the issue will be at the border with the cbsa officers but now I am sure it has nothing to do with them and that I am in the system for them to look up for.
