I have got my document translated from certified translator on his official document with stamp. Unfortunately they do not have affidavit to provide along with the translation as required by CIC, as per them no one does in Saudi. Can anyone advice if that is OK or do I need to get the translation as well as affidavit from outside Saudi Arabia ?
And second I also went to get the document stamped from Notary Public but again same thing, in Saudi they do not stamp those document, Notary Public directed me to go to Chamber of Commerce for the attestation, is it OK
Can anyone who have applied from Saudi Arabia, advice what to do?
I have a birth certificate written in Arabic and what i did is i send the birth certificate to Canada to make the translation from a certified translator in Canada. Certified translators who are certified members in good standing of one of the provincial or territorial organizations of translators and interpreters of Canada do not need to supply an affidavit.
Try to send your birth certificate to your sponsor or a friend in Canada and they can locate the closest arabic to english translator through the provincial translators website.
I have applied from Saudi Arabia and used a certified translator and they did not provide an affidavit. You do not need an affidavit if they are a Sworn Translator, Certified by the embassy. If the person translating your papers was a friend or something like that then you would need it.

The immigration/applicant guide at the link below states that an affidavit is required and only those translators which are part of the provincial organizations are exempted form such affidavit. Can you please share a link or place where it states a sworn translator do not require an affidavit?
Translation of documents
Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:
the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the original document.
Note: An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document. Translators who are certified members in good standing of one of the provincial or territorial organizations of translators and interpreters of Canada do not need to supply an affidavit.
