I just received the PR confirmation and I'll be landing in Canada soon. I am planning to book a flight that goes via London, with enough layover time (8-10 hrs). I would like to use this opportunity to visit some friends there, and go around the city as time permits.
My question is, am I exempted from applying for Visa to march out of the Heathrow airport ? My research shows that a person with Canadian Permanent Residency permit does not need a visa when arriving in UK en route to other countries. But since I have only a confirmation of PR and not the actual PR card, am I still covered by this exception ?
