We started my husband's paperwork in Morocco (he's there, I'm in Canada), but now are considering moving to a different country. Can we ask the embassy in Rabat to transfer his file to an embassy in another country to finish the process?
Similarily - do I have to remain in Canada for sponsorship purposes (i've already been approved)? I'm also considering moving to Morocco while we wait out his paperwork. Once he's approved could we return to Canada together or do I need to already be in Canada when he arrives?
If he is legally admitted to the new country for a period of at least one year on entry, you can ask that they transfer his file for processing at that embassy. If he is not legally documented as being admitted for at least one year his file will have to stay at Rabat.
You can travel to Morocco and stay there with him while his ap is in process ONLY if you are a Canadian citizen. Canadian PRs must stay in Canada to remain eligible to sponsor.

Should also note that CHC will only transfer the file for "the integrity of the Immigration program" so if the applicants has lived all their life basically in one country, and then moves during the application program, it is unlikely the CHC will transfer. You can only request.
We are very deep into the process right now (over a year and half now), with no end in sight. We've were married and living in the same country for over 2 years before we started this process and are really struggling with being apart for this long. We are looking for a way to be together without invalidating his application and losing the last two years of our lives.
I am a Canadian Citizen so it looks like moving to Morocco is our best bet. However, moving to another country is costly and it will take some time to recover from that.
If his application was approved while we were in Morocco, would we have to move to Canada immediately or could we put some kind of hold on the PR until we were able to get financially stable to move back?
Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If the application is approved and the COPR (visa) issued, it will only be valid for 1 year after the date of the medical or the expiry of the passport whichever comes first. I cannot be extended.
