Hello everyone,
I have got a few questions wondering if anyone can help me.
I applied for Canada immigration in November 2006 from London. I included my wife in the second stage of my application in February 2009. I also had my medicals in July 2009. However in May 2009 my wife filed for divorce and I did let Canadian authorities accordingly. Canadian authorities wanted from me divorce decree absolute, which I will be having by end of June 2011. In the meanwhile I initiated CAIPS file check in May 2011, which indicates that I qualify on my own points. I am currently in London on a student visa and will be moving out to India this month as my studies have finished. If I want to transfer my file now to India, can I do it and if so what difficulties will I have or can I do it at all?
Please advice on raaj_ind2000@yahoo.co.uk
Many Thanks

My understand is that once an application has reached the visa office you cannot change visa office of your own accord. Only CIC can do this for workload or other logistical reasons (such as the recent transfers of applications from Islamabad to London and Damascus to Warsaw).
The only way you can use New Delhi visa office now I believe is to submit a new application. Although the way post-June-2010 applications are currently being processed that may be faster than "waiting it out" with your current application if you are eligible.
You can have 2 parallel applications so it may be something to consider.
