Transcript for Study permit

Hi guys,
Im currently renewing my study permit. I am gathering the documents needed and I have a question concerning one: the recent grade transcript.
Is an unofficial transcript ok for that section? My university told me that it is fine and that I don’t need an official one but I just want to make sure.
I am not in Canada so it’s going to be really hard to get an official one.

It is always better to produce official transcript but if in case (and as you mentioned) you are not able to get one then make sure that the unofficial transcript is duly signed and stamped by university.
