Tourist Visa Extension on Expiry Date

Can i extend a tourist visa on the day of its expiration? I know that it needs to be filed at least 30 days before but can it still be filed on the expiry date itself? I found one answer that says yes up until 11:59pm of the expiration date itself but im not really sure if it’s reliable.

Why do you have to wait until the day of? Submit a couple of days before just in case there are technical issues.

So the situation is we filed the extension through an agency on a Friday but they were not able to submit it and just told us that they will file it on Tuesday (not Monday because its a holiday) but Tuesday is the expiry date. Im not sure how they’ll be able to file it on the expiry date itself. Im trying to contact them but no dice.

So agent is not working today? Why can’t you file it yourself? If relying on agents then it is in their hands.

Well the reason we used them is to make sure that we don’t get technical errors if ever we file it ourselves. They don't have office on weekends and its a holiday today (monday) so my concern is how would they be able to submit the application on the date of expiration itself. I just don’t want to hear a big sorry from them soon and saying that they weren’t able to submit because it is already the expiry date of our visa.

All you can do is hope they do it first thing tomorrow morning and there are no technical issues.

It take little to no to to submit as long as the agent has all the documentation.

Why couldn’t they file it today ?

I think they decided not to open today… i cant contact them. If i only know how to do the application myself then i would have done it…

If it is your second extension is could be much more difficult to receive. Why do you need to visit Canada for so long? You are referencing at least 2 people which would mean multiple people have applied for 2 extensions. If a spouse or partner is waiting for sponsorship to be approved or to qualify for common law that is one of the reasons TRVs are often extended but in general you need a good reason to keep extending visitor status.

It’s actually just for my wife. She is waiting for the approval of her LMIA. Im currently under a work visa.
