Tourist visa application!

last year I and my gf applied for a student visa in Canada and we were both rejected. Now we are married and want to apply for a tourist visa. Think our first refusal will penalize us for this application?

Study visa is different from a tourist visa. Better prove that you are legit tourists and make sure you declare that you were refused a visa than lie on your application.
