toddler son visitor record expired what do i do?

Was just about to apply for extension of my three year olds sons visitor record but just realised it expired 3 days ago( his Irish Passport expired this month so thus why his document expired alot earlier than the rest of us)

What is my next step for my son?
We are planning a trip to Hawaii in November but dont think we plan on leaving canada before then? myself and my son are on work permits until next year.

You have 90 days to apply for restoration. However, you will need a new passport.

Get the passport first - I'm sure an Irish passport for a baby won't take too long. As soon as you have the new passport, apply for restoration

Alternatively, once you get the passport, leave Canada and reenter on a new ETA.
