Hi Seniors & Friends.
Me and my wife received our PR visa's last month and we are planning to Land in Vancouver on the 29th June. Everything is set ( Tickets, Hotels, e.t.c) for the landing. Now due to some upcoming projects at work my company might ask me to go to Toronto a month before my actual landing date. As I hold a passport which needs Visa to enter Canada. How should I proceed with this.
1. Can I get a Tourist Visa or Business Visa ( Whatever is applicable ) and then use the Visa for my official work and then use the Canadian PR Visa with the COPR will Landing with my Wife?
2. Or As I already have a Canadian PR Visa , any entry to canada would be considered as my PR landing?
pls advise

You'd have to have a very good reason for them to issue you a visa to use for this trip in lieu of your immigrant visa (it's a hard sell at the border to enter as a tourist once you have the Immigrant visa even if you have a valid viaa or if you are from a visa exempt country since you clearly have the intention to move). Who was the principal applicant? If your wife was the principal applicant and she couldn't travel with you you could try to request a visa on the grounds that you need to travel before the principal applicant can land (the PA must land first). If not, any chance she can travel with you so you still land together and celebrate before your business meeting?
Hi sidestep4u,
I don't have a tourist visa, I don't even know if that's possible as I already have a PR Visa. The Thing is that I don't want to use my PR Visa to land earlier as everything is been arranged for landing in BC while I might have to visit Toronto for work before the landing.
I am not sure if there is any way out of this situation
thanks anyway
Hi Oh Canadiana,
Thanks a lot for your insights, Yes I knew it would be troublesome and I might create a lot of confusion . I am The principal applicant and as you mentioned either I have to make my Business trip along with my wife as a part landing trip or basically ask my company to postpone my trip to end of June so that I could easily go across to Toronto from BC and take care of Business
Thanks anyway again
Cheers

Sometimes business does that. If it is important enough to potentially add a bit of noise, consider sending in a case specific enquiry and asking your visa office if there's any chance ... explain the business need for it as part of your wrap up to be able to go land, your current landing plan details, and the excitement of landing with your wife so that they can give you a sense of whether they could even issue the temporary visa. You don't want to apply and have a rejection on file.
