To show common law status in China?

Hi, I think my situation is a little bit complex. I am Chinese, was studying and now working in Canada. I am now qualified to apply for PR through CEC.
I am gay and my partner is in China. Because of couple reaons, he cannot come to Canada so that we cant get married here. I cant marry him in China either, because its illegal.
We were living together in China for more than one year, which I can provide some documents to verify that. But these documents are in Chinese, so maybe need to be translated? Can I take the reality that we were living together in China to show that he is my partner and I can apply for PR with him together?

Hi, I am also in the same situation. And after done a lot of research, it looks like there is still a way we can work around. You probably can unite with your partner as extended family members, but before that you have to get a PR first.
