Several months ago I read through all the posts on this site which appeared to be relevant to my application (Canadian sponsor living in UK sponsoring British common law partner living in UK both hoping to move to BC) and am almost sure that I read a post which said that the applications (to sponsor and to immigrate) can be sent off and the medical arranged later, as I recollect before the application is dealt with in London. In fact as I recollect it was stated that that sequence was best. I can no longer find the post. Is that still good advice? I ask because both the immigrant checklist and the sponsor checklist (which seems to be a new form) appear to state that a proof of the medical exam must be included with the application. My application is ready to be posted and I had hoped to arrange the medical in Canada when I visit, for a holiday, in the spring. Help please!
I had this same issue. I even wrote to London who said that you can wait until they ask you to do it or do it up front, which may make things quicker... helpful as a kick in the head that response. However, everyone on here clearly said do it upfront, if it is family class, and include the medical as part of your application package. They also made clear to me that the medical should be done as close as possible to your sending off the application package as they are only valid for one year.
