Usually the time given is one year from the date of the medicals

Hi,

You and family should land within one year from the date of your medical examination.
medical exam results have a validity of one year...

its possible for you to land first, finish your landing formalities and then bring your family at a later date.
However, you should carry enough money (POF) for all your family members when you land.

Evan visa sticker has expiry date on it. you have land before your visa expire .

so do you mean to say that even if i am going alone without my family for the first time i have to carry the POF for the whole family or just for myself? and also if my family comes at a later stage , how long should they be there minimum time period i mean after entering ?

Even if you go alone - you have to carry POF for the whole family.

There is no minimum period of time your family has to be in Canada after entering.

Hey Can1122.....looking at your timelines, i had a few questions for you:
(1) How did your Background verification go...were you told by your employers about the NDVO getting in touch with them?
(2) Did you send your PCC along with your application?
(3) Did you have a job offer already in your ahnd?

Thanks.

Ok first of all a long long way to go till the visa is stamped. Wish you all the best.

Next is that in the application process they will ask you to go for a medical check. If the medical check is fine then you will be issued the visa. If so the visa will be valid for a year from the date you did your medicals. Please note it will take about 2-3 moths to issue the visa after medical check.

Yes you can go first followed by your family. Please note you can only go first if you are the primary applicant.

thanx for the reply guys.. now one more thing to get it clear.... after i land for the first time and later when i bring my family for the first time, can they be there for a month or two and return back to my native country or do they have to stay in canada for a certain period of time after entering canada for the first time ?
