We sent our passports 15 business days ago. Have not received it back yet. Now in the email they said "you will have ur passport back within 15 day of receipt by our office"
we had to send our passport via Fort Erie. I cannot track the return envelope I provided..any suggestions anyone.
It is taking three to four weeks. My PP were received at NY office on 04/27, have not heard anything yet. Fedex prepaid is a good idea i think, this way when the package is scanned by VO, you will get an email sent by Fedex. Dont worry, yours is still in the normal processing time.

in the instruction it clearly says to use Xpresspost..
"NOTE: If your address is in Canada, we strongly recommend that you supply a return envelope for your passports using Canada Post’s Xpresspost - National service. Do not send us an Xpresspost - USA envelope. Your passports will be mailed back to you from Canada using your return envelope.
Passports will be returned to you by US Postal Service regular mail unless you use one of the premium services described above. WE WILL NOT USE FedEx, UPS, PUROLATOR OR ANY OTHER COURIER COMPANY ENVELOPES - EVEN IF THEY ARE PREPAID BY CREDIT CARD OR ACCOUNT NUMBER."
Experience: passports given to US border officer..(did not ask for US visa - we had US transit visa). he passed to colleagues inside and called us in..gave us a form and our passports and escorted us to Canadian Immigration where we gave our passports to him..he told us to park in the parking lot and come into see the immigration officer...we gave our documents and passport to her (she asked for valid status) and she called us to sign and after few minutes she gave back our passports and documents. stated PR card will come in mail. welcomed us into Canada.
Whole processing into Canadian immigration took 10-15mins. smooth landing..
