Hi All,
Just curious to know if anyone can point me to timelines defined for parent/grandparent sponsorship opened in January 2014. On CIC website there is no timelines shown for January 2014 applicants.
Thanks,
Navneet

Sure there is, they go behind all the applications which were already received. So 48 months in Mississauga, It will speed up when they reach date of the moratorium. So count on about 36 months, then there is the overseas processing. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

But this link is for applications received before temporary pause on parent/grandparent sponsorship applications. The reason of saying is latest FSW category has higher priority than previous one as CIC says application will be processed based on waiting criteria applicable at the time of apply. Currently, FSW has processing period of 1 year which is why current application shall not wait for 3-4 years.
Same I believe should be for parent/grandparent sponsorship. CIC introduces new criteria along with limited number of applications, shouldn't it have new timelines due to new set of Ministerial Instructions?

Ya it's not going to work that way. All backlog parent applications will be finished first, then the ones from 2014/2015 will be started. First in, first out.
