We got our initial assessment in the mail today. Interview has been waived, medicals have arrived, and no more documents are required. So excited!!!
Going out with my SO to celebrate tonight. Question: Has anyone ever been called for an interview after the initial assessment says they will not require a personal interview to finish processing the application?

Hi everybody, I finally also found to the forum (have been on a different one since we filed our application, but there is way less posts there). Looks really great! ;D
We are going through Buffalo since I have been living in Canada since almost 2 1/2 years already. Met my common-law partner/fiance here, and now "have" to stay.
Filed our application beginning of November, sponsor got approved beginning of December. Then it took forever until the application got forwarded to Buffalo (I blame Christmas season...). AOR came end of January, and the "initial assessment" letter saying "interview waived/no docs needed" about a week ago (dated March 10th, but it always takes a full week for the letters to get to here).
So, right now I am quite hopeful to get PPR some time soon. But who knows.....
Please keep us posted on your progress. I know our December group is anxiously awaiting PPRs for the November group... Once you guys have your PPRs, then we're next! 8)
Hi guys, I'm also a Buffalo Applicant. And the dates for my case are:
Application Received: Nov 15, 2010.
Sponsorship Approved: Dec 29, 2010.
Process started at Buffalo Visa Office: Feb 4, 2011.
Initial assessment done/Interview waived: March 16, 2011.
That's all I have so far.
So waiting for passport request. I hope it comes anytime sooner. I guess I am among the very few from Nov, 2010 group who did not get their PPR yet.
All those who got their passports sent back with Immigration Visa, how long does it usually take from the date you send the passports till when you get them?
Thanks everyone and I wish fast processing for every file.
What is CAIPS? I have read about it on this forum but not sure what exactly is it? Is it some secure way of getting information about your file? Is it different from e-cas? And what is the procedure to get it?
