Who said plastic is bad for health. You just need to buy a good quality brand.
Also, don't do a direct translation from Canadian Dollars to INR.
If you do that, you will find even a McDonalds burger really expensive.
I suggest just getting a pressure cooker from India along with some bare essential plates and bowls, to get you started and running.
Also, get the pressure cooker which supports induction, as majority of the stoves here are of induction type.
Once you are here, you can shop around in Walmart for some affordable non stick pots and pans.
