Please help me guys,
Two months ago from my GCMS notes I came to know that I might get an Interview. Since I am living in my canada with my wife( who is sponsoring me ) I sent some additional documents to cic to prove our relationship is genuine. Now I got an un update in my cic account saying the interview has been cancelled and background check in progress. Does that mean that they waived my interview and PPR is the next step?
Or does that mean they cancelled my interview for now or will they do it later? Its kind of scary sitaution. Please answer me..

If your background check is in progress then next step is PPR.
That's what I wanted to hear pmc92. Thank you for the reply...
This is what I see..
Application/profile status Open
Review of eligibility : Review in Progress
Review of medical results

assed
Scheduling an interview:The applicant's interview has been cancelled
A background check is needed:In Progress
Final decision:Not Started
And just now from the cic help section I saw this
"The applicant's interview has been cancelled means that we have decided that an interview that we scheduled was not required."
So I am relieved now. Don't know how long the PPR gonna take, but still feeling a lot better.

Same thing happened here. Our interview got cancelled and they requested a remedical and police check within 30 days. 2 days after the 30 day deadline our background check changed to in progress, then 4 days after that Decision Made, another 3 days later we got the passport request(today) and its on its way to Singapore! im so excited praise God!
