Hello Guys
I would like to share my experience in Canada with you maybe you could learn something or even give me advice, I graduated with a bachelor degree in my country and worked for 3.5 years in big companies then went to USA for 2 years and got Diploma there.. I decided to immigrate to Canada and because it was impossible to find a job here from outside Canada I decided to come as student for one year and then apply as FSW because I’m already over 67 points (this plan was according to the old law before 26/6)….
For my bad luck I choose to come to Vancouver the most expensive city in Canada, started studying in a certificate for one year (marketing) it was really expensive I put all my money on it but I said one year and will apply for PR but in 26/6 they changed the Law and exclude the international student who spend one year to apply unless he have Job Offer , and this was the second surprise... to find a job here is crazy??? with all of my experience and I’m perfect in English and spend a lot of time to find something no way because I’m searching for specialized job as pharmaceutical sales (where my experience is ) every one talk about networking (you have to know someone there inside the company to help you) how?? even I’m new here ??? IDK ,, and start to hear many stories about immigrants who came as doctors and engineers and worked as Taxi driver and actually I don’t want to stay all of my life in starbucks I would like to go my country better … even if I agreed I can’t apply with these Jobs to PR because it is C and D NOC.
Now still 3 months to graduate hopefully will have one year PGW but no hope to find good job to help me to apply for PR..... and I spend all of my money here in Canada, and regret about it,,, and even I know only basic French to apply for Quebec !! it looks I will go back , isn’t a sad Joke????

Sad to hear what you have undergone, Life is never 2+2= 4. Many permutations and combinations fail in life. I cant say that you have not tried to get job but may be your require change in strategy to get job in your field. Like, look for job beyond BC in Canada the strategy should be apply- apply and apply, think about fixing this problem of networking - look around - all good people visit places of prayer and the minister / priest - they dont decline if requested. You can get connection if you tell someone your problem.

You are a young man and dont loose hope at this moment. You have spent lot of time and money in Canada and you must get back something. Dont think about those people who are not able to get good jobs in Canada, see around and you will see a lot of immigrants have got good jobs and you will see more successful than unsuccessful immigrants.

Give a fresh chance to your prospects in Canada. Make more efforts, change the style of applying and interviewing. Dont get too much bogged down by failures. Keep your hope alive and fight till death. Your education, experience and language proficiency shows that you are talented and you can make a break in Canada. Your success in Canada would give 1000's of in que immigrants an inspiration to succeed in Canada. All of us here would be praying for you.

explorer
thank you very much for your touching words, I totally agree about what you said and I wont gave up ever I will work hard and hard to get somthing here I wrote this post actually because as 30 years old professional I know that alot of people who participate in this forum think to come here as students and then find way to immigrate after change of law 26/6.. I wanted to explain to them how it's not that easy so they should put alot of efforts and work hard to organize everything before they decide to come here ..
but to be clear with you I faced a lot of bad surprises here like
. they changed the immigration law in 26/6 without any care about who came as students to PR they could say all the students who will come after will face the new law that's make sense but it looks they need to forward people to candian experince class to make them pay more money for 2 years almost $50000 which is too much actually they make the international student pay 3 times like canadians in almost of canada schools ??
.. here the jobs market is not easy,, first they will ignore any other education or work experince you got outside canada and that's sucks then will ask for canadain education which I have now ,,and then canadain experince okk how I will get it if you don't give me the job

I wanted to share these ideas with the people who have this plan to be aware how its going
but anyways explorer thanks for support and I wont gave up

I agree with S.K. in that you need to consider provincial programs through which to immigrate to Canada. British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba all have very flexible programs. Moveover, you'll find the cost of living and taxes lower outside of the Vancouver area.

Keep in mind that you'll be able to extend your Post-Graduation Work Permit for beyond one year withouth your employer having to re-advertise your job. You'll only need to apply for a Labour Market Opinion.

Immigration is hard, but it is an adventure. Good luck!

ladies and gentleman,
Job is never worth doing. I have done job in my profession in UK and reached to the highest level, but job is a job end of the day. Few years back I started my own business and after 3-4 hard years, my business established and earned that much money in one year which I couldn't have earned in 7 lives in jobs.
My sincere advice is to do the job (in the beginning) whatever you find and always look to start your own business. You can start a coffee shop or whatever but be your own boss. Don't restrict your income by doing jobs for all of your life. There will be testing times in your life, be brave and strong, do hard work with consistency and success is yours.

In all honesty, International students should pay more than Canadians. Their parents have not contributed to Canadian society like Canadian students parents have and international students chose to study here. Canada does not force you.

Why bother then???...why not stay in your own Country and study if it it such a burden to you?

Honestly....I am sorry....but this is sheer whining, if you don't like the heat get out of the kitchen.
