hai there,
one of my friend was working for an employer for 3 years and done medicals for PR under PNP before couple of months.
suddenly he was terminated from the company without any reasonable reason and his work permit also going to be expired within 15 days. company is promised to pay his salary until he found another job.
My question is what will happen to his PR file ( which is at the final stage) ?
and if he finds another job offer can he start work there if the new LMO get approved but without receiving the pending new work permit ?Is he eligible to apply for a restoration period ?
Can his wife continue working while LMO and WP is processing ?
hi
you do not need a new LMO,all you need is a letter of support from nominee office if u went throu nominee, and a certificate of registration from your prospective employer instead of LMO. Then u submit all this with a work permit application,u can send to buffalo to make it faster.
thank you so much oluyemisi for replying us.
they were informed by their company immigration lawyer that the company is going to close their PR file.
just in that case can he apply Work permit without LMO.?

He needs to talk to the PNP directly about what will happen to his file if he is no longer working for the employer who sponsored him. The PNPs often close files in that case.
If he can not keep his PNP open, he will have to start from scratch with the new employer, new LMO, new work permit and new PNP application or if he's on a skilled permit, it might be wiser for him to apply through CEC because that is not linked to the employer and will continue to get processed inspite of changing employers. Besides, CEC is usually faster.
