Temporary worker or temporary resident?

Before I became permanent resident, I came to Canada with work visa from my company. Later I resigned and took bridging work permit and got a full time job.

The physical presence calculator asks if I was a temporary worker or temporary resident before becoming PR. What is the difference? and which one apply to my situation?
