I am currently applying for a temporary work permit, to do a post-doc. This position has been offered from 1 January 2014, and this date is given in my letter of offer. However, I will not be able to enter Canada to take up the position until February 2014. The university I will be at is fine with this.
I have put 1 January as my start date on my work permit application. Will I be OK to enter Canada and obtain a work permit in February?

did you get your work permit without worrying about the employer if they still accept you into the job ?
