Temporary Visa with Permanent Under Process?

Hello,

I have sent an application to sponsor my husband for permanent residence and we are waiting as it is being processed. I am wondering if it would be okay for him to apply for temporary residence as well, while the permanent resident application is being processed? Does this have any effect on the permanent residence application?

Yes - your husband can apply for a TRV. There is of course no guarantee it will be approved. There will be no impact to your PR application.

You can try calling CIC for an opinion.
Please take with a grain of salt. Im not an expert, I just read a lot.
i think , if you already have first stage approval, it strengthens the application for trv. also, there's the provision for dual intent.
Go to cic website and just do a search for dual intent.
