Hi i have a confusion. i have been living in Canada for 12 years and my permit says " Temporary Resident Status Restored As PER R182. Accompanying Dad On Work Permit Valid To Same Date Temporary Resident Status Maintained As Per R183(6) "
According to cic site if you live in Canada continuously for 5 years you can apply for Permanent Residency.
My Confusion arises here. What is the difference between Temporary Resident Status and Temporary Resident Permit? Can i apply in this sense if i lived here longer than 5 years?

You do not hold a Temporary Resident Permit, so you do not qualify to apply for PR under the permit holder class. A TRP is a special permit granted to people who are otherwise inadmissible for some reason.
If you wish to apply for PR, you will need to qualify under one the regular immigration streams.
Is it possible for me to convert to TPR from TRV if i give circumstances that my dad has business here and i am accompanying him and i have already lived here for 12 years . You said i cannot qualify for permanent residency since i am on trv . Do i qualify for TRP?

You cannot convert your status to a TRP. Again, it's a special permit for people who are inadmissible to Canada. It doesn't matter how long you have lived here.
I never said you don't qualify for PR because you are a visitor. I said you don't qualify under the permit holder class.
