Temp resident Visa & Family sponsorship

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding a temporary resident visa.
I am a Canadian Citizen(living outside of Canada with my family)
We want to go to Canada ASAP ie I don't want to wait for 18 months before they get Permanent residence.
Does anyone know if they are able to go to Canada on a Temporary residence Visa and we start the application for permanence residence (Via me sponsoring them) from there? I believe the temp resident visa is valid for 6 months but we can extend it.

Please if anyone has any info let me know,

Yes they can apply but there are no guarantees that they will be approved for one. It will all depend on how strongly they can prove they will not overstay in Canada.
