Hello,

I had some concerns regarding an appliation my husband submitted for Permanent Residency. Back in June 2013, my husband (at the time we were not married) submitted an application on employment basis (skilled work). Fast forward to November 2013, we got married (I am the Canadian citizen) in India. His PR app is currently in process. So now we're trying to determine what our options are to get him to Canada as soon as possible.

1. Let his current app stay in process and see what happens?
2. Let his current app stay in proess and send additional douments to prove our marriage to support that app?
2. Withdraw his current app (if possible) and re-apply on a spouse basis?

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

You could also submit a spousal application in addition to the FSW application and have two in progress.

Thanks for your reply. Will submitting an additional spousal app possibly cause any delays if they see 2 apps in process?

Thank you for your time.

No - no delay.

Thanks again scylla for your response. If my husband's FSW based app gets approved before the spouse based app, do you know what would happen to the spouse app? Would there be any extra steps we would need to take for the spouse app?

Thanks again.

You would just send an email to CIC asking them to cancel the spousal application because the FSW application has been approved.
