Surrender of Indian Citizenship

1) Is it possible to travel to India on Indian Passport after acquiring Canadian citizenship within 3 months of acquiring Canadian citizenship?

2) Can a person surrender Indian Citizenship in India if he plans to stay in India for more than 3 months as the grace period is only for 3 months from the date of acquiring citizenship?

I ended up postponing my travel but i have heard of people running into problems with travelling with 2 passports. I called High Commission in Ottawa and they had no clear answer either. Emails were left unanswered.
