My wife still has her maiden name on her passport (before marriage)
I got my passport renewed a year back and so got her new name (with changed surname) endorsed in my passport.
Even my kid's passport has her new name (i.e. again changed surname)
I am planning to apply for CEC but not sure how to tackle this situation to avoid any confusion with the immigation officer.
I do have a marriage certificate which clearly states her maiden name and the new name. Also it clearly states her old address and the new address.
Should I just provide a detailed explanation with my application along with the birth certificate or should I apply for the name/address change on her passport here in Canada.
Also should I the PCC on her maiden name or the new name.

Why are you confused, if she doesn't get a new passport in her married name, then CIC will process the visa in her maiden name. A lot of women don't take their spouse's surname through marriage, in fact you can't in Quebec.
Since your passport and your kids passport has your wife's name with her new surname, I am assuming that your wife is willing to change her surname, if thats the case you could get a new passport for your wife with the new surname and send the updated passport photocopies to CIC.
Thanks for your response....my wife is ready to get the name changed but the problem is the time that Indian consulate takes....They say that it may take 3 - 4 months before she gets the new passport with the new name...but I have to apply by September.....
What I think I will do is attach an explanation note that my wife would continue with her maiden name and explain the logic of her new surname in my and my son's passport and support it with the marriage certificate....
