Are you aware of that the current immigration minister already is proposing this and that those changes may be implemented very soon? Basically reverting back to what it was before Harper government made their changes. The ball is already rolling. There is no reason to have this petition. The proposal is already in the Canada Gazette, the official news from cic, and has been for months.

I think it is the only positive action we can do right now. As you said, it is proposed "from months". May be this petition puts more pressure to accelerate the process.
