My mom will be visiting Canada for second time on a Supervisa in April'19. Her visa expires in Mar2020 so she will be staying with me for approx. a year. Last time when she had visited in 2017 I got a superivsa Insurance from a company called "Destination: Travel Group Inc", they charged a premium of $1500 for a year (pre health condition with 500 deductible). My question is as my mom is coming here for second time, does she need a Insurance? and if yes, are there any cheaper alternative available?
I used punjab insurance as broker but didn't like their service as once they sold me the policy they went in hiding for any of my future queries.

Does she need insurance? God forbid she gets sick, but if she did, and she did not have any insurance, how would she pay the bill ? It’s not free for visitors

I dont know much about that but Super Visa Insurance ONLY covers Emergencies. All the other visits to clinics like soar throat, high bp, thyroid, back pain, tooth ache etc. you have to pay from your own pocket. Super Visa Insurance will not cover that.
Insurance companies are underwriting seniors who have a much higher chance of ending up in hospital. Compared to a 100K bill it is affordable and doubt you will find a whole lot less.
