Hello,

1-How long is IRCC extending stays for supervisas these days?

2- is a medical exam required for an extension.

to clarify the supervisa itself is valid for 4 years I’m asking to extend the stay if two years have already passed in Canada

Why is having to do another medical such a big deal. It can be done in Canada.

not a big deal per say . I was just under the impression that extensions didn't require medicals. In my particular situation one of my parents would most likely require a follow up test to confirm the condition is still stable. Cost of the test might be high.

what if we apply for an extension and then decide to leave Canada after 2 months. and then the medical request comes
Do we still need to do medicals?
I understand the stay period will reset to 2 years when they re-enter regardless, right?

If you stay past the 2 year mark you have taken advantage of an extended amount of time so yes a medical can be required even if you have already left. Your best bet is to send a webform once your mother is out of Canada indicating that your mother has left Canada. You’ll have to see if she avoids the medical
