My mom is currently in Canada on supervisa and she got her US visa recently. We want to visit US in December.
However, while returning from USA to CANADA on Supervisa does she need to have a medical coverage from 1 year of date of re-entry?
For example: She has a medical coverage valid till July 2020 as a supervisa requirement. Now, if she leaves the country for USA and returns to Canada in Dec 2019. Does she need a medical coverage from Dec 2019 to Dec 2020?
Your mother's policy will be valid and will be effective till July 2020. If she continues to stay after that, you have to extend the policy till the next departure date. Insurance carrier will accept that. Border agency shouldn't have an issue unless you stay more than the 1 year tenure.
Another solution would be, before travel you can extend the policy till July 2020 and you can cancel it if she returns to home country anytime before.
Also, you have to check the insurance policy to make sure if she will be covered during her stay in US. For super visa, you would have applied for a travel insurance and most travel insurances would say that the stay in the country where they traveled first (Canada) should be more than the stay in the next country (USA) and some insurance policies would cover only a certain number of days in it.
Reach out to me for further information, if any. Thanks.
