Hello everyone,
This message may help someone who has applied for indian passport holder. I had submitted my parent's application on 21st February 2025. But since then I haven't received any update on IRCC portal and IRCC tracker website. I have submitted upfront medical and biometrics are already valid so those 2 steps will not even requested by visa officer. Its been 1 and half months, though for India processing time is 4 months but I am right now very curious to know what's going on as its very important and kind of urgent for me.
I contacted IRCC via phone call and the agent said that this application is being processed in New Delhi consulate office and not in canada. so they gave me link to webform through which I can contact India high commission of canada.
This message I am sharing just for the purpose, if someone has any question regarding their application and any kind of urgency then they can contact through webform to know what's going on. I know there is no guarantee of getting expected answers but if anyone wants to try at least they can.
here is the link -

Thanks
Unless there is a life threatening situation there is no point in contacting IRCC. There is a special process for medically urgent visits. Processing for all forms of visitor visas often takes months and posted processing times are not guarantees.
Unless much longer than posted processing time you will just be told to wait so there is no point in contacting IRCC via any method. It may also take weeks to get a response from a webform because so many people send in webforms. Either you get a response quite quickly because your profile qualifies you for mainly AI processing while everyone else needs a manual review which takes time.
I am looking for super visa insurance for my parents with pre-existing. What insurances have you all bought ? I need something affordable yet guarantees coverage when in need. I do now want to sign up for a cheap insurance as there are lot of them out there but genuinely want to have peace of mind knowing they have medical coverage if and when they need without drowning us into a crisis.
For many preexisting medical issues there may be no coverage. You will have to look at the fine print of all the policies. If you do make a claim, especially a large one, would expect insurance companies to look through your parents’ medical histories to ensure they have to pay the claim. Depending on their preexisting condition and your financial situation would consider limiting the duration of their visit or reassessing whether visiting Canada is a good idea.
I can help you with affordable insurance for super visa. Where are you located ??
Supervisa insurance rates are based on risk assessment of the individual applying. In general the rates reflect the fact that those visiting on supervisas are typically seniors who do often make claims. I would even consider taking out a larger policy since we see people surpass the 100k and recently someone posted that the hospital was demanding the balance of 100k be paid right away because the bill for the hospital stay was 200k due to emergency heart bypass surgery. Would expect it to likely be impossible or prohibitively expensive to purchase supervisa insurance once the policy expires and in general will need to return home when well enough to travel for any follow-up care. Supervisa visits allow parents to visit Canada not move so parents are expected to return home if they need routine healthcare or can’t purchase supervisa insurance.
February applicants, any update?
February applicants, any update?
I applied 20th Feb and still not a single update I have got.
We submitted application and received Biometric appointment within 2 days. Can I do the medicals upfront at this stage? Or need to wait for IRCC to send me a request for medicals? I didn't know we could do medicals upfront until now. Pls advise.
Hello all,
Yesterday 1st May I have received Passport Request for my parents'(Indian Passport Holders) visa applications. Summary of the timeline is as follows
Application Submitted : 20th February, 2025
Medical : Upfront and attached along with application
Biometrics : Already there for 10 years so did not submitted again
Passport Request : 1st May 2025
There were no updates at all in between. After 20th Feb, I have received final decision yesterday. Medical Passed status was updated yesterday only. And IRCC tracker is still not updated at all.
Good Luck to all who all are waiting for approval. This timeline may help you for estimations atleast. Though this is just for information as IRCC works very randomly so no 2 applications can be compared.
Hello all,
I have a question if someone can answer. This question only for people in India.
Yesterday my parents went to VFS Global Ahmedabad for passport submission. They opted for one way courier to get the passport back so they paid the required amount to them for their courier and sms charges.
Second thing happened was, the person sitting there asked them if previously visa was rejected or not and my parents got rejection 6 months back for visitor visa. So they said yes and surprisingly that person said you need to pay 570 rupees for the rejection. And that's what that person did for other people too who got previous rejection.
This sounds suspicious to me, because we already paid $100 + $85 for application fees and biometric fees to IRCC. And at VFS global we opted for 2 way courier service and paid for that too, which got void because received rejection. So now how can they charge 570 rupees for each applicant saying that this is for your previous rejection. In that visa application they haven't done anything apart from biometrics.
Is this happened to someone else as well in any of the VFS Global office in India?
