Hello Everyone,

Please, can someone explain this to me LI5?

Applied for a Super Visa in July for a parent. Parent is a citizen from a visa-exempt country, but is hoping to stay for 2yrs instead of 6 month.
Did the biometrics, passed medical, now received a request for a passport. Ok, but Why?

====
If your application is approved, the visa will be stamped inside your passport. If you’re from a visa-exempt country, we will issue you a letter to give to a border services officer when you arrive in Canada.
====

What are they going to stamp into a passport of a person who already has eTA? Is this common?
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind, but like 50% of this process was different from their description online, and I worry that our application was completely misunderstood.

Thank you lots.
