Hi Guys,
I applied super visa for my mother with new passport. she got her super visa but not for whole duration and only for 3.5 years. Any idea what is this dependent on as to why she didn't get super visa for the whole time 9 years available ?

This is decided on many variables. Hard to tell why someone is given certain amount of time".

One thing is for certain, there is no reason why someone should expect any TRV to expire with their travel document. Each TRV is evaluated separately and length is given based on the results of that evaluation.

any idea what those variables are?
Those variables could be your financial and employment situation + your family composition + if your mom has another ongoing visa application (for example, a PGP PR) + based on the assessment, whether or not the visa officer thinks your mom must have a super visa validity of up to her passport expiry, etc

If this helps:
The super visa allows someone to stay for up to 2 years only on the initial entry (if there's a date handwritten under the entry stamp). Otherwise/other entries would be for 6 months

Thanks a lot . this is what i was looking for. Really appreciate your help in this.

My bank account has $50k+ for over an year. I earn 60k+ yearly and am single; My mom is 65+ and she is a house wife. maybe this is the reason they never gave her long visa. Well whats done is done. thanks for your help.

IMO, your mom's age + she is a housewife will not impact the length of the super visa. The fact that her medicals are okay + you can financially support her 2-year visit are all plus points. Quite honestly, based on your post, not sure why the visa officer granted her a super visa of a shorter validity

As bellaluna has suggested, do order GCMS notes

Well i will soon. I will let you guys know what comes up there. Thanks a lot and really appreciate your help.

All of the documents she provided are taken into consideration. All of the sponsor's documents as well. So everything is a criteria.
