So my wife's mother will be applying for a Super Visa , want to know how the medical exam work, does she have to get this done or should we wait until they tell her to get it done? I am looking here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/index.asp but it is unclear what to do exactly, I don't want delays in the process that is why I ask. Also another question I have is how will the visa office know that we are applying for a Super visa and not a normal visitors visa? the forms are exactly the same?
1- Medical takes about 12-15 days for results to get to embassy. I have seen some here said that they didn't get asked for medical but it will be faster if it's sent before most likely. However, I have also seen people complain that they got email to do medical while it was already done - this is probably because the doctor hasn't entered the results yet.
2- the IMM5727 (main application form) has a field that you can select Super Visa. Also, mentioning Super Visa on invitation letter and letter of support multiple times will help to get the confused VOs on track. In addition, when you go through the wizard it will ask you if you have a children or grand-children in Canada and right away it populates the right forms for you to apply for Super Visa (this means there will not be any Proof of Financial Means etc for applicant). You will see the difference if you go through the wizard and one time select having children and another time select not having children in Canada.
