Hi,
My name is Himank Kumar. I am working as a Postdoctoral fellow employee in Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia from Oct 2016 uptill now. My Work permit (which is employer specific) is extended again uptill September 2018. As per my offer letter, Postdoctoral fellows are exempted from the requirement of LMIA.
During filling up the Application detail for Express entry, I am having ambiguity whether I have to say YES in the question stating " Do I have a job offer in Canada"?
Unless and until my Job has a positive LMIA, I cannot write YES there. I kept it NO while filling the questionnaire, it says that I am not eligible to apply?

There should be another option which says "LMIA exempted or not required" (if I remember properly), select that one. or post a screenshot so that we can better assist u.

The question asked in the express entry application detail is: WAS THE POSITIVE LMIA ISSUED FOR THE CURRENT WORK PERMIT?
I think I have to choose, NO-MY WORK PERMIT IS EXEMPT FROM LMIA FOR OTHER REASONS AND IS EMPLOYER SPECIFIC.
The statement written in my offer letter is "
NOTE: Postdoctoral Fellows are exempt from the requirement for a Labour Market Impact Assessment/ESDC Confirmation under LMIA exemption code C44 and pursuant to R205(c)(ii).
Please suggest, so may I choose YES , in the following question I just asked?
Does HIMANK KUMAR have a job offer in Canada?
The offer must:
2. Has HIMANK KUMAR been working full-time for the employer on their current work permit for at least one year? (Or for an equal amount of part time work?) Yes
The slight ambiguity is that you just stated " you can answer "yes" as long as you've worked for your employer for a year and you have a valid job offer valid for a year AFTER you become PR."
Could you please enlighten me for this part of your response" you have a valid job offer valid for a year AFTER you become PR."
Does it mean after getting PR, I should have a new work permit extended from Oct 2018 to further.?
No, the answer is not dependent on the validity of your work permit but as to whether your employer will put in writing that you'll have job offer for at least one year after you become a permanent resident.
are currently working for an employer specified on the work permit - YES
have one year of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work) for the employer(s) on your work permit who is making the offer and YES
have a valid job offer from that employer for at least one year after we issue your permanent resident visa" DO YOU?
