My wife was denied a visa in April 2010 at Accra office. I won the appeal in March 2011. Got the verdict the same day. Accra started processing her application again on June 9 2011. I recently did a Ministerial inquiry through my MP's office and the information I got was that her application will be treated as a fresh one therefore should go to the back of the line. I was given the 22 months processing time for Accra.
Does anybody know if this is really true? So deflating. I was hoping that I will reunite with my wife by at least end of this summer or early fall. I don't see them doing much with her application other than requesting for new medical exam and police clearance which have expired.
Any additional information or knowledge about this is appreciated.
thats weird i thought based on some cases i have read on canli that it would be sent back to VO and they will continue processing I never read that they start all over again plz follow up as that is weird n it wouldnt be fair to u n your wife
I hear that Accra office is picking up in terms of their processing times. The official timelines on CIC are still ridiculously long, but a few people on this forum have come back with good news about really short timelines.
So fingers crossed, I guess.
I applied to Accra as well, and I STRONGLY reject those ridiculous timelines stated on CIC. lol
Some forum members who have appealed and won have reported that the processing after the appeal was won was longer than the average for their office. So I don't know if the application will be going to the back of the line, but it could well take months more.
On the other hand, Accra does seem to be getting faster lately, so I would hope it would not be 22 months. Maybe ask your MP if he/she can put some pressure on them somehow - because surely it must be obvious to anyone that someone who has won the appeal should not have to wait just as long as a new applicant, or longer, to continue the processing.
