Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has any advise on submitting passports from outside North America. I received my passport request yesterday, but in the notes is says that CIC will only return passports to an Canadian or US address. I am in South Africa.

Do I need to send my passports to a friend in Canada and have them submit on my behalf, or is there another way I can do it directly from here?

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Congrats Noreved on your PPR! I think you can SEND your passport(s) directly to CIC, that's not a problem, but they will not send them back to you in South Africa - hopefully you have a friend in the USA or Canada whose address you can use, and have them forward the passports to you.

When I got my PPR, there was a form that I had to fill out, indicating the address that the passports should be sent to - did you get this form?

Thanks Jes, appreciate the response. I did not get any documentation with my passport request, it arrived via email. I shall ask a friend in Canada to help get the passports back to me. I will write a letter and include an envelope with their address on it. Do you know if the return envelope needs to be pre paid or not?

It does not need to be prepaid, it will be returned via Canada Post.

Thanks Jes, much appreciated.
