Submitted application without FBI clearance but with state police clearance

Hi I am Canadian citizen sponsoring my wife a US PR. We submitted the application on June 27 and according to the tracker they received it on June 29. My concern is we didn't submit the FBI clearance with it but instead we submit a washington state police clearance since my wife is from Seattle. However, we submitted along with the application an explanation why we haven't include the FBI clearance. Its been 2months now since we request for the FBI clearance and we just received it today. Can I just submit the FBI clearance by itself to CPC-Mississauga? Or just wait for their instructions? What are the chances that they will give back my applications since we didn't include the FBI clearance.

Wait until you get AOR letter with a file number for your application. As soon as you have a file# then send the FBI cert. with a cover letter giving your info, file#, UCI#, etc. Don't wait until they request it as that will slow down your processing.

Will they return your app for not having it? Unlikely. Since you included an explanation letter they will probably be satisfied with that and be okay with receiving it later. They WILL probably want it and not just rely on the state cert.

Hi sawadee-eh, when submitting the FBI Clearance to CIC, should we not open the sealed envelope from FBI? or we'll just submit the FBI Police clearance without its envelope? Thansk for your help.
