Wouldn't it be simpler for them to apply wherever they reside? I understand passport processing times via embassies / consulates are shorter than in Canada processing.

I know it may be simpler, but I want to know if I can legally tag them along while I apply. Will it be a problem if an application is submitted and left out of country for a short trip to US.

And then ship the passport to you outside Canada? I think it's possible in theory, but what if passport Canada called you to check something on the application and couldn't reach you? I imagine it would put your file on hold. I wouldn't risk it. If you have an urgent travel plan, provide a proof and you can get your passport in 1 day with an extra $100.

Thank you. Not all urgent requests are processed. Express requests can be processed with Travel tickets, but not urgent unless they see the need to travel is related to urgent reasons. Besides that, I'm just checking if there would be repercussions for doing in that way.
