study visa extension vs change as visitor

My daughter came with me to canada 1 year ago with a study permit but she is only 2 years, old. Now I am applying for an extension to the whole family, however I am not sure for my baby if apply to extend her study visa (since she is not in school age) or remain as visitor. In that case I don't know what to do as she holds a visitor visa, so I dont know if i should apply for her or not. On the other hand, If I dont apply, she will lost her status as a student and, how can I change her status to visitor with her current visa from inside canada?
