Study Permit Wait Time - Online vs Mail

Is there any difference in wait time for applying for a study permit online vs by mail? Obviously the time it takes to physically move your application will take longer by mail, but otherwise is there any difference? If I apply online, should I assume my wait time will be the same as the visa office in my country, or are the online applications processed at a different office? Thanks.

I think it is fast only if you apply within canafa. Outside canada there is not much difference.
