Study permit status cancelled?

Hi

As we were waiting for the study permit to arrive in mail, we extended stay as visitors after study permit was approved to allow legal status while waiting.

We received the study permit in November, but also the visitor extension got approved just 3 days ago. We didn't cancel the process.

Does that cancel the study permit?

Why would your study permit be cancelled if it was approved In November? You have a valid study permit.

Visitor allows you to enter Canada. Study permit allows you to stay in Canada. You cannot enter Canada with a valid SP but no VV. You cannot stay in Canada with a valid VV but without a valid SP.

That's basically how it works, they are sort of independent.

So we had a visitor record valid during which we applied for a study permit and was approved before Visitor visa expired.
While waiting for the actual study permit to arrive in mail (we had to request it through WebForm), we submitted another visitor extension to cover for the wait for the study permit.

We received the study permit, but never cancelled the visitor extension, and it was approved 2 weeks ago.
Now which status is valid?
We are worried the new approval changes / cancels previous status..

When your study permit was approved, you didn't recieve passport request letter? Without a trv how can you travel back and forth your home country?
