Hi all,
I applied for a study permit and recently I got a visa refusal. Im 31 years old living in Lebanon, I applied for a college for a one year certificate.
My brother is sponsoring me with a bank account of around 200,000 USD$
My family has 2 big assets.
I am currently working at a company with 28K $ yearly income and the company promised to re employ me with a 35K $.
I have a bachelors degree
and I showed proof for my study gap.
These are the grounds IRCC refused my visa:
I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

I m no longer interested in studying in Canada since they have very strict laws regarding permits, and reapplying is not worth it.
when did you apply and when did you get refusal?
I applied on 29th of July and I get refusal today.

what did you study and what program did you apply for?

I did a bachelor degree in Business administration from an American University, and I applied for an Administrative Professional certificate which is mainly Practical learning.
and a three page SOP explaining my situation and why I want to study in Canada.
Yeah. It's obvious that the Visa officer took your profile as PR aspirant and not considered as a bonafide student. The choice of program has played an important role in refusal. You have bachelors degree and is 31 year old. According to VO, obviously you can't qualify for PR so opted for a certificate to get in to Canada and become a PR (which is not illegal technically and it may not have been your intention), but they have to decide based on the profile. If you wish to apply again, go for Masters instead.

Yes maybe its the choice of the Program but my Immigtation Lawyer told me they do accept PR people in their 30s, I also included my CLB 9 IELTS general
(L9, R8,W7,S7) just to show them that if I wanted to immigrate I would've already applied.

Do not rely on Lawyers / Agents. They are getting paid to provide you sugar coated lines. The reality is that, you are never going to get visa with the choice of program. And Yes, they do accept PRs in 30s but the chances of applying and getting accepted from home country without Canadian education gets really low at that age. That's why people opt to study for one year of certificate to gain additional points and apply for PR which Visa Officer knows.

the Lawyer said that you might get PR using PNP, but as you said its a low chance, and they're not even giving me a chance to study one year in Canada and apply for PR, if I wanted to. Anyways thank you for the Information, much appreciated.

hi. most people who apply for just certificate programmed rarely get visas . please apply for a masters or post graduate diploma instead . check fraser valley university and university of ottawa

Again, nothing related to Diploma and/or certificate if you already have experience in the field. That only works if you are fresh graduate and want to get some extra knowledge before starting a career.

Try for masters and apply your visa on the basis of it. You may be able switch to a different program once approved.
30 years doing a certificate after a Bachelor's? Clearly your intent is to immigration and it's too obvious

its all legal, but I do not why they are strict in such cases.

Yes, I am thinking about applying for a masters degree soon, thanks.
