Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit
application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet
the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and
Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of
residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can
demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.

What's ur complete profile? Previous education, intended program and university, funds, etc etc

Thanks for your response. But what do you mean by my complete profile?
I have a bachelors degree in history and diplomacy but I work in a financial firm and my intended program isa diploma in business administration. I actually have enough funds.

Students need to select a program relevant to their previous education and current work experience. If your current work experience isn't relevant to your previous education but is relevant to your intended program in Canada then you need to mention the reason in your statement of purpose.

My current work experience is relevant to my intended course. That's why I'm confused. Don't know if I can just reapply like that...really need help on what to do.

You know it is relevant and how the program is useful to you but you need to explain all this in your statement of purpose so the visa officer also understands.

Did u explain in your statement of purpose how it is relevant and why u switched from history and diplomacy to working in a financial firm with whatever designation you are now.

You are also supposed to explain how the intended program will help you progress in your field back home.

Also, did you write about your ties to your country?

If you did not do the above, then you need to do so.

Order caips notes to know the exact reason of refusal. It takes around 1 month to be sent to you.

Your course doesn't need to be related to previous studies but given that you already work in a financial firm you need to show why you need to take the business course. To get approved you need to show how taking to course will lead to better career opportunities in your home country based on your previous education and job history. Since you already got the finance job you have to show how the course will allow you to advance.

I actually used an agent to apply. I just discovered that he did not submit a statement of purpose for me. Rather he just submitted my documents and stated that I can be contacted for more documents if needed. I do not know if I can still apply submitting one.

You'll have to apply again and explain that you weren't told by your consultant that you needed an SOP so didn't include one originally. You don't actually need a consultant to apply. You may want to think about hiring another consultant since the person doesn't seem very knowledgeable.

Okay. If I want to apply myself, do I need to submit fresh documents or can I still male use of the previous one and just add my SOP?
