Study Permit Refusal Financial Proof Needed

Hi

My study permit was refused due to insufficient proof of funds. We had shown enough to cover for tuition (including uni fees), housing, and meal plan. I saw that it is recommended to have 10,000 more than tuition plus some extra for each month, do those $10,000 stand for housing and meal plan or would it be tuition, room and board + 10,000? Including the extra money for each month, we might have been about $2,000 short in the account we showed where my parents are keeping the money for my studies. I will be applying again and this time showing my savings as well (would that be okay even if my parents are paying and those are just extra funds?) Any advice is much appreciated!

include your own personal bank statement showing some funds enough to cover certain expenses in your next reapplication and avoid huge once deposited reflecting on your bank statement and sponsors bank statement

So when I first applied my dad had created a new bank account and he had moved all his savings for my studies into it at once and that was part of what we showed, do you think that since there was only one statement for that account that would have been an issue?

That's what we were thinking of doing but my university doesn't show the tuition/housing bill until late July so they said all I can do for now is pay what it cost last year and then complete it once they actually release this year's. I'm not sure if that would work for my reapplication though since they won't really get to see that I paid what I needed to, only that I paid something.

New bank accounts and sudden money deposits are a red flag, because they think you just put the money there for the application which is not yours. Not sure what can be done at this point though.

Do you think paying early would help or maybe showing where the money was before?

Is it okay for some of the money to have come from a loan?

setting up a new account and huge deposit is a suspicious act, an account has to be old enough to show 4-6 months old of bank statement

you can always pay your first semester tuition fee whether the school demand it or not for better chance.. if you should pay, a RECEIPT must be issued to you or attach the proof of transfer funds to the school to your documents, while stating it in your SOP as well. This improves your chances to 65-70% of approval

Its very okay for funds to come from a loan, all you need is to show loan letter or as the case may be and show paper slips or transaction proof for the loan transfer funds directly into your account while also stating it in your SOP convincingly

it is much better to show receipt as a document of Canadian origin will hold a much greater weight, in my opinion. So you must request your school for such a receipt.

True, anything of Canadian origin has huge weight but a "second" option has always "improvise" in many cases
